Hardware

Mara is a Sun Netra T1 AC200 donated by Charles Leahy (charles). It's a 1U UltraSparc IIe box with 1GB of RAM and two 10K Seagate 73GB Cheetahs. It is also one of the few machines in our rack which is installed with the correct rackmounting kit.

OS

It runs Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 (etch) and not much else right now.

Storage

It has a 3GB RAID 1 root and a 65GB RAID 1 data partition mounted on /tardis/www/

Services

Mara currently runs some of the most recently set up vhosts but has not yet taken over the bulk of the web hosting. This is mostly waiting on someone playing with the apache configs and suexec settings. It has rails installed. I vote we make 2.0.tardis point to mara :)

Apache Installation Issues

While attempting to get apache up and running as per the instructions here, I caught a snag as mara doesn't have tardis-packagetools installed from the tardis repository. However, after adding the tardis repository to /etc/apt/sources.list, the following appears:

Failed to fetch http://packages.tardis.ed.ac.uk/debian/dists/sarge/main/binary-sparc/Packages.gz 403 Forbidden [IP: 129.215.149.99 3128]

I'm guessing this means somebody needs to play with the firewall or the routing or something. It would be nice if somebody who knows what they're doing could handle this.
